Deciat X2

System: Deciat

A Barycenter is the center of mass between two or more orbiting objects. Each object then effectively orbits around this common center of mass. When the mass of one object is much greater than the other, the barycenter will lie very close to the center of the more massive object and for most purposes we can assume that the smaller object is orbiting around the larger one. However, when the masses of the objects are comparable, the barycenter will lie somewhere between the two and needs to be taken into account when calculating the orbit for each object.
